One of the experiments I stumbled upon in about 2012, when playing around with a chopstick and a candle, was homemade charcoal. (Plant based referring to the wood I used to make the charcoal. I don’t like to have boring titles.) I probably couldn’t replicate the process of making the drawing utensil if I tried, partially because it was so long ago, and partially because I was just playing around. At the time I had an Orchid plant surviving surprisingly well on the kitchen counter, and it became the subject of my trials.

Orchid drawn using charcoal I made myself when playing with a chopstick and a candle.
